Routing

Routing tables as they were at collection time, and analyses built on them.

At a glance

  1. WhereRouting menu.
  2. AccessRouting module and a permission per route type.
  3. DataThe collected routing tables.
/routing/ospf
The demo estate's OSPF page.

What the screen shows

The tables

Static routes, IS-IS, OSPF, EIGRP, IPv6, BGP IPv6 and OSPFv3 routes: prefix, next hop, interface, distance, metric and VRF, with a device filter.

eBGP Advertised Routes

The eBGP sessions and the routes you advertise to each.

Transit & Peering

Upstream capacity, ingress, egress and sessions not established, per transit provider and peering.

IGP analysis (BETA)

For IS-IS, OSPF, EIGRP or physical links: path, failure simulation, single points of failure, asymmetry, prefix origin and evolution. Page marked BETA: it needs the beta module in the licence.

What you can do

  1. 1

    Follow a path

Tools, then Path Analysis computes the path from the collected tables and compares it with a live traceroute; see Tools.

  2. 2

    Simulate a failure

IGP analysis, Failure simulation tab: remove a link or router and read what changes.

    /routing/igp-analysis
IGP analysis on the demo estate.

Limits and things to know

Redundancy returns a 403 error

In this version the Redundancy page (BETA) needs a different permission from the one that shows the menu.

Tables date from the collection

They show the state at the last collection, not live.
