Where to find your data

One collection feeds the inventory, ports, neighbours and topology at the same time.

Before you start

  1. A successful collectionAt least one device collected in the previous step.
  2. A little patienceSome menus only appear once they have data to show, within five minutes.

The steps

  1. 1

    The dashboard

Dashboard summarises the estate: device count, vendors, versions, state of the last collection.

  2. 2

    The inventory

Inventory, then Devices: model, version, serial number and configuration of each device. Inventory, then Ports: each interface, its state and what is connected to it.

  3. 3

    The topology

Inventory, then Multi-Layer Topology: the network drawn from the CDP and LLDP neighbours actually read.

  4. 4

    Search

The search field in the top bar and the Tools menu find an IP or MAC address, and the port it sits on.

What you should see

The collected devices with their real values, and new menus depending on what your devices do: routing, L2 services, IPAM.

For a precise question, the how-to guides start from these screens.

If it does not work

An expected menu does not appear

Wait five minutes after the collection, then reload the page. If it is still missing, it depends on a licence module or on data your devices do not provide.

The topology is empty or incomplete

It is built from CDP and LLDP. A device that does not run them has no neighbours; collect its neighbours too so it shows as connected.

Next step

Evaluate compliance and match versions against CVE and end of life.
