Finding your way around

A menu bar that follows your data, a search that finds everything, and a few session rules to know.

At a glance

  1. WhereTop bar, on every page.
  2. AccessThe menus you see depend on the licence modules and your role's permissions.
  3. DataSeveral menus only appear once their data has been collected.

The NacTrack menu bar above the dashboard.

What the screen shows

The menus

Dashboard, Inventory, L2 Services, Neighbors, Routing, IPAM, Customers, Policy, Security, Reporting, Tools. A missing menu is an unlicensed module, a missing permission or data not collected yet.

Menus that follow the data

Ports, Neighbors, Routing, L2 Services and other entries only show when your devices have supplied their data. The list is recomputed every five minutes: an expected menu can arrive up to five minutes after a collection.

The BETA badge

It marks a feature still evolving. Some BETA pages also need the beta module in the licence.

Global search

Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on Mac) opens a palette that searches pages, devices, IP addresses, MACs, interfaces and VXLAN in the active tenant, from two characters. The magnifier searches an IP or subnet and opens the IP Finder.

Notifications

The bell refreshes every thirty seconds. Mark all read, delete, or View all notifications; preferences are under Preferences in your account menu.

Language and theme

EN and FR switch the interface for the session: at the next sign in it returns to the default language. Light or dark theme is remembered by the browser.

Active tenant

With the multi tenant module, the selector right of the breadcrumb switches tenant; every figure shown belongs to that tenant.

Limits and things to know

How long does a session last?

It closes after 120 minutes of inactivity, and after 480 minutes at most. Three wrong passwords in a row lock sign in for a while, with a wait that doubles up to fifteen minutes.

There is no forgotten password link

There is no email reset. An administrator sets a new password from Users.

Some labels stay in English

In this version a number of buttons and titles stay in English in the French interface: Run All, Overview, report cards or built-in dashboard names. The manual quotes them as they appear.
